THE DREAM DASH 5K
Date : Saturday, June 17, 2017
In 2011, City Councilman Bill Thrash had a dream. His dream was to create a place where local students could come after school, several days a week, to do homework, stay active, and gain valuable life skills that would guide them in the years ahead. Not content to let it remain a dream, Councilman Thrash went to work, building an incredible coalition of local businesses, schools, churches, and other organizations now called the Kennesaw Dream Foundation (KDF).
In February of 2011, the KDF launched the Kennesaw Teen Center in the heart of downtown Kennesaw, and to date, over 75 different students have participated in these after-school programs. The mission of the KDF is to engage students, empower leaders, and enrich the community. The purpose of the DREAM DASH 5K is to raise additional community support for these exciting and difference-making endeavors.
LEAVE YOUR MARK
For us, this is more than a catchy tagline.
We all want to be remembered for something, and as a business or organization in this community, you have an incredible opportunity to be remembered more for what you give than what you get. Like Councilman Thrash, and the many who’ve now joined him, you too can leave your mark. By partnering with the DREAM DASH 5K, you provide funding that will help the Kennesaw Teen Center continue to engage students and empower them to become leaders.
