When is the race?

There are SIX!  They’re on Saturdays in downtown Kennesaw:

May 9 (Swift Cantrell), June 6 (Hero Run), July 11 (Sports Fanatic), August 15 (Dream Dash), September 19 (Great Locomotive), October 31 (Garden Gallop)

How much is each race?

If you sign up during the Kick-Off Party, you can register for all 6 races and only pay for 5!  Each race is $25.00 up until the week of the race, when they go to $30.00.  Registration includes a t-shirt and the opportunity to get all kinds of great stuff from our sponsors and vendors.

Race-Day Registration is available for $35.00 on site, but a t-shirt is not guaranteed.

Where does the money go?

Each race supports a different non-profit that benefits the citizens of Kennesaw and its community.  May’s race benefits the Swift Cantrell Foundation, June’s race benefits military veteran students at Kennesaw State University, July’s race benefits The Dave Krache Foundation, August’s race benefits The Kennesaw Teen Center, September benefits The Southern Museum, and October benefits the Smith Gilbert Gardens.

I signed up for a race and now I can’t go.  Can I get a refund?

Unfortunately, refunds are not offered.  Each race benefits a non-profit and costs are incurred along the way as each race director and committee plans for the event.  If you cannot participate race-day, get a friend to pick up your t-shirt at packet pickup!  Or, if you prefer to skip the t-shirt, reach out to the race director to see if they will issue you a tax receipt for your donation.

It’s going to rain!  Is the race still on?

Races are rain or shine!  On a very rare occasion, if the weather is severe, the City of Kennesaw Police may call the event.  We will do our best to communicate everything on our Facebook page the morning of each race, so stay tuned!

The race got rained out!  Why isn’t it rescheduled?

Unfortunately, there are only so many Saturdays in a year!  There are a lot of logistics and moving parts that go into planning a race – road closures, port-o-potty rental, race timing scheduling.  While we can’t reschedule a race that gets rained out, we hope to catch you at the next one!

Can I bring my dog?

No, dogs are not allowed at the pre-party, race, or after-party.  Thank you for understanding!

Can I ride my bike, bring roller skates, or bring roller blades?

No, this is a walk or run only course.

Can I walk or run with a stroller?

Yes, but we ask that you start at the back of the group.

I picked up the wrong shirt size!  What do I do?

Check your race bib – if the size on the bib does not match the size shirt you received, contact the Race Director to swap it out.  If the size on the bib does match the size shirt you received, and the size no longer works for you, feel free to contact the Race Director but please note that the requested size may not be available.

Can I register for the race on race day?

Yes!  For $35.  Please bring cash and note that you may not be guaranteed a t-shirt.

I ran in 4 or more of the 6 races.  How do I get my hoodie?

You will be contacted by the Series in early November to confirm your hoodie size.  If you do not receive an email from the Series by the first week of November, email kelly@orionsportstiming.com

Can I buy a hoodie?

No.  Only those who register for 4 or more of the 6 races may receive a hoodie. 

Does everyone get a finisher medal?

No, not everyone gets a finisher medal.  There are fifteen age groups for both men and women and first, second, and third place medals will be given out shortly after the end of each race.  See you at the awards table! 

Receiving medals:

Top 3 Age Group M/F 0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, and 75+.

What makes these races so special and different than any other 5K?

There isn’t enough space on this page to cover all the reasons!  Not only does each race benefit a different non-profit that gives back to the community, but participating sponsors and vendors are involved to help make this a fun event and race series!  Whether you are a series athlete, a family looking to get fit, or looking to challenge yourself and looking for a new PB, these races are for you.  Did we mention each race is a Peachtree Road Race Qualifier?

I don’t want to run.  Can I walk?

Yes!  This is a fun event aimed at keeping everyone active.  Remember – by participating, you’re moving quicker than the person who chose to stay on the couch!

I couldn’t make packet pickup or the race, but I still want my shirt.  What do I do?

Contact the Race Director for the race you missed.

Will breakfast be available that morning?

Some snacks will be available for race participants only after the race.  If you have dietary restrictions, please plan accordingly.  If you plan to be hungry after the race, check out one of the fantastic restaurants Kennesaw has to offer!

I can’t run one of the races I signed up for, can I transfer the payment to another race?

No.  Each race benefits a different non-profit.  However, if you find a friend that wants to take over your registration, share their name, date of birth, and t-shirt size in advance of the race and we’ll update the registration.

One of my kids is a part of Swift Kids Running Club.  Can they participate in a race that isn’t on their list?

Absolutely!  In fact, all six races honor the $20 registration fee for Swift Kids.  Contact ______ to get the form and register as a Swift Kid!

Are races Peachtree Road Race Qualifiers?

Yes!  Our Qualifying ID is GA 1103OWC

Where do I park?

We suggest parking behind Kennesaw First Baptist Church.  The starting line is in front of the church and the after-party and awards ceremony is in the front parking lot of the church, so this will be most convenient to making the most of the morning!  Parking is also available at the Depot and in downtown Kennesaw, but please be aware that Main Street closes at 6:00am.

I keep hearing about the after-party.  What’s that? 

Each race will have vendors at the after-party celebrating the event and handing out some fun stuff to race participants!  Come check it out!  We’ll be in the front parking lot of Kennesaw First Baptist Church.

How do you win Overall or Masters for the Series?

You must run in at least 3 of the races, and then your times are averaged.
